hello again

Well it has been a really long time since the last time I blogged. I have been a very busy girl. I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in may.  I got married to my sweetheart on July 23, 2011 and we have moved in to our new house and it seems like time has just flown right past me. We were busy working on our house all summer trying to get in ready for us to move into, and here we are in November and we still have some loose ends to tie up, but we almost have everything done now and it feels great.

I have been doing my own photography sessions and documented some gorgeous weddings on my own  this summer. I have quite a few sessions to blog and I am so excited to share them. I have also been working with C Studios this summer, I have been in training to be her assistant next year. Amy is so amazing and I am so thankful to have been able to learn from her. I also assisted a couple other photographers with wedding this summer thanks to the referral from C Studios. So I will have beautiful images to share from those weddings I assisted on as well.

So lots of fun stuff going to be added to my blog I promise. It has just been a crazy summer and I have not been in a creative blogging mood unfortunately, but not anymore! It is time to get my blogging juices rolling!

engagement style board

Here is a preview of my latest style board for engagement sessions. I am still working on it and I might change some things around before I am completely done with it, but I wanted to share. This is John and Renee's session and I absolutely adored their session. They were full of smiles and happiness and the entire session made me extremely excited for their wedding day. I also thought their scrabble idea was super cute! I can't wait to document their wedding day.

flowers

It is my last week of school and I am feeling inspired by my Light Writing and Letterpress class. We have been doing alternative processes like, cyanotypes, van dyke brown, platinum/palladium over ink jet, photo gravure, and my new favorite platinum/palladium over gold leaf. I have fallen in love with the process and I started a series of flowers for my final. While I was putting together my images I decided to do some yummy black and whites too. Hope you enjoy them.

newborn style board

This style board was just as fun making as the last one. This one is of the adorable Kymber! She was three months old and sweetly napping during this session. She is a doll baby and these photos make me smile every time I look at them. The sweetness of new babies incomparable to anything else. I am glad I got to document Kymber at such a sweet age. I just love baby sessions!

my kind of style board

I am working on creating an identity for myself and my photography business. I will be graduating from school in May and I couldn't be more excited to start this new journey. So I have been making a website and style boards to promote what I do, and my style of work. I am currently working on a child/family style board. I used images from my session with the Erin, Joslyn, Jayson, and Beckett. I loved their session and my goal was to show the bright happy smiles, and personalities of Joslyn, Jayson, and Beckett. Joslyn also had a cute little puppy so of course she joined in for some of the pictures as well..... would you expect any less form me? AKA animal lover to the core!
